Hydro One
The largest electricity transmission company in Ontario and one of the province’s major electricity distribution utilities.
Hydro One owns and operates most of Ontario’s high-voltage electricity transmission network. The company transports electricity from generating stations across the province to local distribution companies and large industrial customers.
In addition to its transmission operations, Hydro One also provides electricity distribution services to many rural and smaller communities across Ontario.

Hydro One operates under regulation by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB). Transmission and distribution rates are approved through regulatory processes to ensure reliable service and reasonable costs for electricity consumers.
Electricity generated at a nuclear station may travel through Hydro One’s high-voltage transmission lines before reaching a local distribution company that delivers power to homes and businesses.
